Keoladeo Ghana National Park – formerly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, is a famous park for sighting birds in India. It is home to a wide variety of birds and is particularly known for the critically endangered Siberian crane. Other birds you can find here are herons, storks, cormorants, migrant ducks and sarus crane. It also inhabits animals which include wild boar, Asian palm civet, Golden Jackals, striped hyenas, Bengal fox and blackbuck.

Lohagarh Fort – meaning Iron fort, is one of the glorious forts of Rajasthan that stands out with its simple yet powerful architecture. It was built by Maharaja Suraj Mal of Bharatpur. The mesmerizing fort is worth a visit with beautiful parts like Kishori Mahal, Mahal Khas, and Kothi Khas.

Laxman temple – is a splendid specimen of the Rajasthani style of architecture embellished with eye-catching pink stonework. It is dedicated to the younger brother of Lord Ram, Laxman. The structure is worth spending few hours to soak in the royal charm of its exquisite doorways, artful walls and ceilings, carved pillars and arches.

Bharatpur Palace and museum – emanates mystique with its mix of Mughal and Rajput architecture housing a gripping museum. The museum is named Kamra Khas, a walk in which will familiarize you with the history of Bharatpur. It is said that this magnificent palace was built in stages by several Maharajas who put their best in its beauty.

Deeg Palace – used to be a lavish residence of Bharatpur rulers in summers. The remarkable edifice is laid out in quadrangle shape with gardens and walkways at the centre.
