Jim Corbett

Established as Hailey National Park, it is the first National Park of India located in Uttarakhand. It also serves as a Tiger Reserve since 1973. The main attraction of the park is Royal Bengal Tiger and Asian Elephant. The jungles are also inhabited by other animals including Asiatic Black Bear, Sambar, Hog Deer, Sloth Beer, Walking Deer and Yellow-throated marten.

Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary

Officially called Keoladeo National Park, it is a renowned avifauna sanctuary situated in Bharatpur city of Rajasthan. Interestingly, it is also designated as a World Heritage site in 1985. People mainly come to see the endangered Siberian Crane, herons, migrant ducks and Sarus crane. You can also enjoy wild animal sighting of Chital deer, Nilgai and Sambar deer.

Ranthambore

One of the largest national parks in India is recognized for the Royal Bengal tigers. It is situated in Sawai Madhopur district (150 km away from Jaipur) of Rajasthan. The area is considered one of the top tiger spotting areas in the country. Other animals present here are caracal, sloth bear, leopard, fox, hyena and Indian wolf.

Periyar

Situated in Kerala, the park used to be the game reserve of the Maharaja of Travancore. For those interested in wildlife, it treats them with an easy sighting of elephants and tigers. Additionally, it supports 62 species of mammals which include Bengal Tiger, Nilgiri-tahr, Travancore flying squirrel, sloth bear, sambar and jungle cat.

Gir

It is a wildlife sanctuary located in Gujarat and is also recognized as Sasan Gir. Adventure seekers visit here to see the endangered Asiatic Lion, which are found only here outside Africa. The carnivores present here include Indian leopard, striped hyena, jungle cat and honey badger. Deer and antelopes like chital, Sambar deer, chinkara and blackbuck are also commonly seen.

Bandhavgarh

The Vindhya hills of Madhya Pradesh preserve an enchanting fauna highlighted by the main attraction Royal Bengal Tigers. A large number of leopards and several species of deer offer a wonderful experience to adventure enthusiasts. The park is divided into 3 zones - Tala, Magadhi and Khitauli. It promotes the population of over 22 species of mammals and 250 species of birds.
