Vijaya Vittala Temple

Considered to be one of the largest historical structures in Hampi, it is the first place you should head to see. As the name suggests, it is a 15th-century temple dedicated to Lord Vittala, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The cynosures of eyes are the colossal Stone Chariot, towering pillars and finely carved sculptures.

Virupaksha Temple

It is a 7th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Virupaksha, an incarnation of Lord Shiva. What makes this place stand out from the rest is its religious significance as the oldest functioning temple in India. Notice the walls embellished with intricate inscriptions of Lord Shiva and numerous mandaps encircling it.

Hanuman Temple

It is the only temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman in the complete complex. The temple sits atop Anjaneya Hill which is believed to be the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. You will enjoy the picturesque route that passes through a river followed by a flight of stairs leading to the temple.

Hemakuta Hill Temple Complex

Sasivekalu Ganesha Temple

To the south of Hemkuta Hill lies this prominent Ganesha temple. It received its name from the similarity between Ganesha's belly and mustard seed which is called Sasivekalu by the locals. The centre of attention is a 2.4 m tall statue of Ganesha with snake carved around his stomach.
